No, seriously.  I’m a beacon of knowledge when it comes to the career college sector.  Why? Because our ad agency represents about 85,925 of the 85,950 vocational schools out there. I’ve been immersed in career schools the last seven years and can expound upon any career field out there—save for horseshoeing. I have no idea if there’s demand for that gig.  I spend more time on The Bureau of Labor Statistic’s website than their web people. BLS.gov is actually listed as a “favorite” on my Internet Explorer page.

That’s sad.

Last week, I saw worlds collide as I did a story on the burgeoning cosmetology industry.  Why did I sound so well-versed on career opportunities in the cosmetology industry? Maybe because I totally am. My co-anchor looked at me like I was Rainman when I started spewing out statistics.

Lord knows, I’m not a stranger to holding a microphone and talking in to a camera—but I have to admit it was kind of a weird topic for me to be omnipotent.  Everyone back at PlattForm liked the piece—and the folks at KCTV5 enjoyed it too.  They always seem impressed that I have my finger on the pulse of hot new trends.
