I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a red carpet professional. I still get giddy, goofy and twitchy when a major celeb is standing directly in front of me. Especially if I have a crush on said famous person. Technically, flirting is practically outlawed on the red carpet. But I say throw caution to the wind.
Speaking of flirting, when the impossibly handsome Cheyenne Jackson arrived, I may have peed myself a little. Not sure what I asked him. Even more unsure what he replied. Everything was in super-slow motion. But I do know this … he’s crazy tall. I stood on my tiptoes for the entire duration of the interview so as not to appear insignificant. (The picture is semi-blurry because the photographer was as flummoxed as I was.) I do distinctly remember him saying, “I like your hair”. I guess I must have misunderstood him … because the videographer later told me he said, “Are we done yet?” Meh. Happens.
When John Stamos arrived on the red carpet everyone went berserk. He never made it down the red carpet, pausing only to take a few, scant photos. But he definitely got the biggest buzz and biggest reaction of anyone arriving on the red carpet except for …
… you guessed it, those adorable kids from “Glee”, Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera. Me thinks the “Glee” kids have gotten a little big for their britches. Neither star did any interviews this year … just some quality preening on the red carpet. Same thing happened last year when Chris Colfer was a presenter. He didn’t even poke his head out for a photograph. He managed to piss off the blogosphere by being MIA.
Dakota Fanning scooted down the red carpet so fast this year you would have thought she was on fire. I had several poignant questions for her, such as, “Why do you refuse to do interviews?” and “Wasn’t that hilarious when Amy Poehler made fun of you on ‘SNL'”?
All my interviews will be coming up on MoxieQ.com … so stay tuned. You’ll hear why Bernadette Peters hasn’t changed her hairstyle in forever. You’ll also get the 411 on Megan Hilty’s new show “Smash.”
The best interview, you ask? Of course it was Carson Kressley, who’s been on “Queer Eye”, “Dancing With The Stars” and is now featured on “Good Morning America” occasionally. We’re Facebook friends. And I stalked him relentlessly before the event to ensure I got a great interview with him. We even had a code word if he didn’t see me: Farfegnugen. I was going to yell it if his publicist tried to steal him away.
Don’t miss my fun one-on-one chats with all the stars … and even more behind-the-scenes dirt coming soon to MoxieQ.com!
